Duties
Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients’ physical conditions, including assessments of physiology and anatomy knowledge to inform treatment strategies
Develop and implement personalized care plans targeting specific conditions such as orthopedics, geriatrics, pediatrics, and post-surgical rehabilitation
Deliver a wide range of physiotherapy interventions including trigger point therapy, manual therapy techniques, and exercise programs to improve strength, flexibility, and function
Manage discharge planning processes to ensure seamless transition from inpatient to home or community care settings
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care across acute care, outpatient clinics, hospital environments, and home health services
Utilize electronic medical records (EMR) systems efficiently for documentation of patient progress and treatment updates
Educate patients and caregivers on injury prevention, physiotherapy exercises, and health maintenance strategies to promote long-term wellness
Qualifications
Valid licensure or certification as a licensed Physical Therapist with relevant regulatory bodies
Demonstrated experience in inpatient hospital settings, outpatient clinics, or home health environments with a focus on patient care excellence
Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and orthopedic rehabilitation techniques
Proven ability to develop effective care plans tailored to diverse populations including pediatrics and geriatrics
Experience with discharge planning and managing care transitions in acute or community settings
Familiarity with EMR systems for accurate documentation and communication within healthcare teams
Excellent communication skills to educate patients about physiotherapy practices and foster positive therapeutic relationship

Full time days (NO block scheduling)
Variable shifts needed
Typically 8am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday, however flexibility needed to work later shifts
Typically 9:30-6 would be latest shift. Some weekend shifts. No-on call requirement.
Floating Required
Yes, primary location is Everett Hospital with floating to Cambridge Hospital
Flexibility to cover evaluations that arise at Somerville Hospital, which has inpatient behavioral health beds for children and adolescents. This is unlikely to be a frequent occurrence.
MUST be competent to perform: PT evaluations, treatments, re-evaluations in acute care environment.
Must have acute care experience
Must work every other major holiday
