Interventional Radiology Technologist

Job Description
Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Interventional Radiology Technologist for a 13-week assignment. This role is perfect for professionals with at least one year of IR experience, seeking to work in a fast-paced Magnet-accredited acute care hospital. The technologist will assist in various procedures including vascular, abdominal, genitourinary, and interventional studies using advanced imaging techniques.

Responsibilities:
Prepare and set up interventional radiology equipment and procedural rooms

Maintain sterile field and perform scrub duties during interventional procedures

Act as room circulator, ensuring optimal patient care and procedural flow

Perform and assist with specialized procedures including:

Angioplasty, Stent Placements, Aortography, Chemoembolization

Nephrostomy, Ureteral Stent Placement, Uterine Artery Embolization

Vascular closure systems (e.g., Perclose, StarClose)

Collaborate with radiologists and nursing staff for procedure planning and execution

Document procedures accurately in Epic charting system

Key Requirements:
Minimum of 1 year of Interventional Radiology experience

Able to perform complex vascular and genitourinary procedures

Familiarity with endovascular interventions and scrub responsibilities

Strong interpretation of dysrhythmias and electrophysiology study skills preferred

Qualifications
Education: Associate’s Degree or higher in Radiologic Technology or related field

Experience: At least 1 year in Interventional Radiology required

License: Must hold current state license as applicable and ARRT certification

Certifications:

Required: BLS, ACLS

Preferred: Additional IR-related certs

Skills:

Strong knowledge of cardiac cath lab and EP procedures

Experience with vascular, abdominal, and genitourinary IR techniques

Proficiency in operating imaging systems and maintaining sterile techniques

Requirements

License: Must hold current state license as applicable and ARRT certification
