Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering, coordinating, and overseeing high-quality patient-centered care across the ICU and Emergency Department settings. The RN provides leadership in patient care, supports administrative processes, and ensures compliance with facility policies and professional standards. This role requires advanced clinical judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to perform under pressure while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform comprehensive patient assessments and prioritize care for critically ill or emergent patients in both ICU and ER environments.
Administer medications, manage IV therapy, and perform life-saving interventions in accordance with established hospital protocols and emergency standards.
Monitor and document patient condition, response to treatment, and changes in status using EPIC or other EMR systems with accuracy and timeliness.
Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary staff to coordinate care and optimize patient outcomes.
Respond rapidly to critical situations, including trauma, cardiac arrest, sepsis, and other life-threatening emergencies.
Lead and mentor nursing and support staff, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to best practices.
Participate in administrative functions, including staff scheduling, onboarding, chart audits, and policy implementation to maintain departmental efficiency.
Provide emotional support and clear communication to patients and families throughout all phases of care.
Ensure compliance with infection control standards, patient safety regulations, and hospital policies.
Demonstrate leadership through AIDET principles (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank You) in every patient interaction.
Qualifications:
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California (or compact state license).
Minimum 2–3 years of ICU or ER experience in an acute care setting.
Experience with administrative duties such as staff coordination, compliance monitoring, or department leadership preferred.
Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (CCRN preferred).
Strong critical thinking, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
A valid California RN license is required BLS, ACLS, NHISS, PALS, and MAB
