Bilingual Director of Nursing – Workers' Comp Case Management – New Orleans

CoreCare Medical Management Services is hiring a bilingual (English/Spanish) Director of Nursing to lead our workers' compensation nurse case management team across Louisiana.

This is a senior clinical leadership role for an experienced RN who knows workers' compensation and medical case management, and who wants to build and support a strong nursing team. The Director will be based in the Baton Rouge, New Orleans or Lafayette area and will travel as needed.

An active, unrestricted RN license and English/Spanish fluency are required.

THE ROLE
The Director of Nursing provides clinical leadership, guidance, training and oversight to CoreCare's Nurse Case Managers, making sure injured workers receive appropriate, timely and cost-effective care. You'll work closely with our case managers, insurance carriers, adjusters, employers, physicians, attorneys, healthcare providers and CoreCare leadership.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
Clinical Leadership
- Provide clinical oversight and direction to the Nurse Case Management team
- Serve as the clinical resource for complex, catastrophic and challenging cases
- Guide case managers on treatment planning, medical coordination, return-to-work strategies and modified duty
- Advise on alternative treatment programs, pain management, home health, work conditioning, work hardening and rehabilitation
- Work with physicians, therapists and other providers to promote appropriate treatment and recovery
- Provide testimony in litigated cases when necessary

Team Development
- Supervise, mentor and support Nurse Case Managers
- Recruit, interview, onboard and train new case managers
- Develop and deliver ongoing education for the nursing team
- Set and maintain performance, documentation, quality and professional standards

Quality and Operations
- Review case activity for clinical direction, documentation, communication and case progression
- Monitor the quality, timeliness and accuracy of case reports
- Track case inventories, reporting requirements and performance expectations
- Work with leadership to improve clinical services and operational efficiency

Client and Community Relationships
- Help resolve client questions and service issues that need clinical leadership
- Build strong relationships with carriers, adjusters, employers, physicians, attorneys and referral sources
- Represent CoreCare in the workers' compensation and healthcare communities
- Stay current on Louisiana workers' compensation law, regulations and case management practice

Bilingual Responsibilities
- Communicate directly with Spanish-speaking injured workers and family members when appropriate
- Support case managers working with Spanish-speaking injured workers
- Help ensure medical and case management information is clearly understood by all parties

REQUIRED
- Current, active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Bilingual: speak, read and write professionally in English and Spanish
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Minimum 10 years of professional nursing experience
- Demonstrated leadership ability, including mentoring and developing nursing staff
- Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational, time-management and documentation skills
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and ability to travel as required
- Commitment to HIPAA, confidentiality, professional ethics and information security

STRONGLY PREFERRED
- Workers' compensation experience
- Medical case management experience
- Knowledge of Louisiana workers' compensation laws and practices

PREFERRED
- BSN
- Supervisory, management, team-lead or clinical leadership experience
- Background in rehabilitation, occupational health, orthopedics, neurology, trauma or catastrophic injury
- Advanced education in nursing, case management, rehabilitation or healthcare leadership

CERTIFICATIONS
Case management certification is highly valued (CCM, CRRN, COHN, CDMS or another recognized case management or rehabilitation certification). Candidates who are not yet certified should be willing to pursue certification once eligible.
