Registered Nurse – Home Health - Travel - (HH RN)

This Home Health RN role is based in Watkinsville, Georgia, a picturesque community known for its historic small-town charm, vibrant local arts scene, and welcoming atmosphere. As a Home Health RN, you will deliver skilled nursing care to patients in their homes, helping them recover from illness or surgery, manage chronic conditions, and maintain the highest level of independence and comfort possible. You will perform comprehensive initial and ongoing assessments, develop individualized care plans, and provide direct, hands-on care such as wound care, medication administration, symptom management, and teaching. You will also educate patients and caregivers on disease processes, medications, and lifestyle modifications, empowering them to safely manage health needs at home. Your typical day will include traveling to multiple patient homes within Watkinsville and nearby communities, reviewing clinical information and orders, completing visits, and documenting in an electronic medical record system. Caseloads and visit volumes are designed to allow thorough assessments and meaningful patient interactions, with an emphasis on quality outcomes, safety, and patient satisfaction. You will collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team that may include physicians, therapists, social workers, and home health aides, coordinating services and communicating changes in patient status promptly. Shifts generally follow daytime hours, with some flexibility depending on patient needs and organizational scheduling practices. Home health nurses often work full-time with a schedule that supports autonomy in planning visit routes and daily priorities. While patient ratios are not expressed in the same way as inpatient units, you can expect a manageable roster of patients, with support from supervisors and office-based staff to ensure timely orders, supplies, and care coordination. This position offers the opportunity to develop strong clinical judgment and independent practice skills, working one-on-one with patients in a home environment where your assessments and interventions have a direct, visible impact.
