Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Telemetry Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality care to patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring and intermediate-level care. The Tele Stepdown RN will manage patients transitioning from ICU or those who require closer observation than a general medical-surgical unit.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms using telemetry equipment

Provide comprehensive nursing care to stepdown and intermediate-acuity patients

Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments per physician orders

Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition

Collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, and interdisciplinary care teams

Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes

Educate patients and families on treatment plans and recovery processes

Maintain compliance with hospital policies, patient safety, and infection control standards

Required Qualifications

Active Illinois RN license in good standing

Minimum 1–2 years of recent Telemetry or Stepdown experience

Strong cardiac rhythm interpretation skills

BLS (AHA) required

ACLS (AHA) required

Ability to work independently in a fast-paced acute care environment

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience in ICU, Progressive Care Unit (PCU), or Stepdown

Familiarity with EMR systems

Strong communication and critical-thinking skills

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods

Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs

Manual dexterity and visual acuity required for patient care and monitoring

Compliance Requirements

Completion of all facility compliance requirements prior to start

Ongoing compliance maintained per hospital and agency standards
