Operating Room Technician

JOB SUMMARY (LIST FORMAT):

- Facilitate operative and invasive procedures by preparing and providing sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment.
- Maintain and organize the sterile field during procedures, ensuring sterility and taking corrective action as needed.
- Function as a scrub person, assembling and organizing supplies and equipment required for procedures.
- Assist with placement of sterile drapes and provide instruments and supplies to the surgical team.
- Perform counting procedures in coordination with the RN circulator.
- Prepare sterile dressings and help with post-procedure cleaning and room preparation.
- Clean and prepare surgical instruments for processing and transport to decontamination areas.
- Participate in ongoing education, competency verification, and required training programs.
- Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
- Support and promote the hospital’s mission, vision, values, policies, and procedures.
- May be required to float to other departments as qualified.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate from an accredited surgical technology program.
- Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Preferred: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST).
- CRASE training required for assignments longer than 6 months.
