American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreters

Adelphi is seeking American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreters to provide in-person interpretation services in school settings in Kissimmee, Florida. Providers will support communication for deaf and hard-of-hearing students during classroom instruction, meetings, and school events.

REQUIREMENTS

• Fluent and effective communication in English and ASL.

• Current accepted interpreting credential, such as EIPA 3.5 or higher, RID national certification, NIC, NAD Level 3, CI, CT, CSC, or CDI.

• Ability to follow staff directions, perform assigned duties, and maintain required credentials and ongoing training.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Interpret spoken English into ASL to support classroom instruction and communication.

• Provide interpretation for parent/teacher meetings, other meetings, performances, graduations, and special events.

• Coordinate assignments with school staff and follow approved schedules and directions.

• Arrive in the assigned classroom before the bell; promptly report delays and coordinate absences or early departures with Adelphi.

• Maintain student confidentiality, professional attire, required identification, and compliance with school safety procedures.

• Perform other duties as assigned.
