Epic Pain & Orthopedics is seeking an exceptional Nurse Practitioner who wants more than a traditional clinic position. This is an opportunity to become a key clinical leader within a rapidly growing, physician-led musculoskeletal, spine, orthopedic, and interventional pain platform focused on delivering outstanding patient outcomes.
The primary function of the Nurse Practitioner is responsible for medical care and management to members served by the program and participates in gathering clinical information for medical necessity determinations for service requests. In addition, administer and monitor patients in our facility during treatment and provide the necessary education on treatment regimen, condition management and treatment self-administration when appropriate.
This is a multi-faceted role of the Nurse Practitioner, the individual must be calm, professional with the ability and willingness to work with a wide range of personality types in a variety of environments.
Essential Functions
• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with pain management needs in skilled/long term nursing facilities and clinic settings.
• Procedures include: Trigger point injections, sphenopalatine ganglion blocks, occipital notch injections, joint injections, IV therapy.
• Order and interpret labs/x-ray/MRI/CT scan results, prescribe medications, develop treatment plans based on individual patient needs
• Integrative and functional approach with topical compounds for pain, supplements, Bio-Identical hormone replacement, weight loss, and nutritional needs. Safely prescribe and monitor medications, provide ongoing reassurance and support.
• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with neurological, behavioral, and pain management needs.
• Develop policy/procedure, train new providers
• Individualized treatment plans for each patient
• Provide patient clinical coordination in our infusion suites
• Train patients in the self-administration of treatments, and how to quickly recognize and respond to symptoms of adverse physical reactions to treatments
• Coordinate with pharmacists to address changes in patient condition or drug management issues.
• Collaborate and confer with staff regarding patient status and treatment needs
• Document all interactions and communication with patients, plan of treatment (POT), assessment, treatments, patient responses/reactions to treatment, status of disease process and training activities in a timely manner using company issued tools
• Complete training for new/specialty infusion therapies Qualifications
• Ability to lift and perform repetitive motions
Qualifications
• Must be a graduate and certified from an accredited advanced practice program
• Two or more years of outpatient clinical experience as an Advanced Practice Provider, with a demonstrated ability to work autonomously; capable of providing care without physician supervision
• Comfortable treating adult patients, conducting comprehensive or episodic health history and physical assessment of patients/families with acute, chronic and/or potential health problems
• Current, unrestricted Indiana State license or be eligible for licensure
• Active Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration or be eligible for registration
• Must possess active Medicare/Medicaid Enrollment or be eligible to enroll
• Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office
Responsibilities
• Offering personal, professional care directly to patients
• Maintaining accurate and current patient records
• Reviewing patient’s current symptoms, identifying diagnosis for care management and active medical management of treatment
• Completing physical examinations, medication reviews, wound care and depression screenings
• Working in conjunction with other clinical providers, APPs, and physicians to deliver premium care in a 100% outpatient primary care clinic
• Communicating assessment findings
