Surgical Assistant

We are looking for experienced Surgical Assistants to support surgeons during surgical procedures in acute-care hospital operating rooms. This is a hands-on position for someone who is comfortable working in the OR, following sterile procedures, and working closely with the surgical team.

What you’ll do

* Assist surgeons with exposure, retraction, suctioning, and tissue handling
* Assist with bleeding control, vessel ligation, suturing, and wound closure under direct surgeon supervision
* Help with patient positioning, surgical site preparation, and draping
* Work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and OR nurses
* Follow proper sterile and aseptic techniques
* Help maintain a safe and efficient operating room environment

What you need

* Surgical Assistant certification such as CSFA, CSA, or an equivalent credential, or Licensed Surgical Assistant status
* BLS certification required
* ACLS preferred
* Strong knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and OR safety
* Previous hands-on surgical assisting experience in an acute-care operating room
