Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical experience across diverse medical settings, including acute care, long-term care, outpatient clinics, and specialized areas such as ophthalmology, cardiology, or behavioral health. This role involves providing high-quality patient care through comprehensive assessments, medication administration, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. Candidates with proficiency in EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks are highly valued. The position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment focused on delivering exceptional healthcare services while adhering to HIPAA and infection control standards.
Responsibilities
Conduct thorough patient assessments including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history documentation
Administer medications and injections accurately following aseptic techniques and physician orders
Perform specialized procedures such as IV infusions, catheterizations, suturing, tube feedings, and wound care
Manage airway devices including ventilators and perform airway management as needed
Collect specimens for laboratory testing and process specimens according to protocols
Utilize EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for accurate medical documentation and coding (ICD-10/ICD-9/CPT)
Provide patient education on health coaching, medication management, and discharge planning
Assist with diagnostic evaluations including sonography or mammography when applicable
Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams for case management and post-acute care planning
Maintain infection control practices and ensure sterile processing standards are upheld
Support patients across various settings such as ICU, emergency room, outpatient clinics, hospice & palliative medicine, or home & community care environments
Demonstrate proficiency in handling diverse patient populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, neonatal ventilator management, or patients with disabilities
Experience
Candidates should have a minimum of one year of clinical experience in relevant healthcare settings. Preferred backgrounds include:
Critical care experience in ICU or Level I/II trauma centers
Emergency medicine or urgent care experience with triage skills
Long-term care or nursing home experience with dementia or Alzheimer's care
Post-operative or outpatient surgical center experience including ambulatory surgery centers
Specialized training in areas such as cardiology (cardiac catheterization), nephrology (dialysis), dermatology (dermal fillers), or esthetic laser treatments is advantageous
Experience working with diverse populations including children (pediatric care), developmentally disabled individuals, or those requiring complex chronic disease management such as infectious disease care or pain management strategies
This role requires candidates to be adaptable with excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to patient-centered care. Prior experience with medical imaging techniques like sonography or mammography is a plus. All applicants must be licensed practitioners compliant with state regulations and possess current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and other relevant credentials.
