Certified Language Interpreter (ASL, Spanish, French, Mandarin & Other Languages)

Adelphi is seeking Certified Language Interpreters proficient in American Sign Language (ASL), Spanish, French, Mandarin, and other languages to provide interpreting services to students, staff, and parents at schools in Kyle, Texas. The ideal candidates will provide accurate and effective interpretation services to facilitate communication and ensure meaningful access to instruction, school programs, and related activities.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Relevant interpreting certification or credentials appropriate to the language or sign system offered

• Demonstrated proficiency in ASL, Spanish, French, Mandarin, or other requested languages

• Knowledge of professional interpreting ethics and confidentiality requirements

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide accurate interpreting services for students, staff, and parents in the assigned language or sign system.

• Facilitate communication during classroom activities, special education ARD meetings, counseling sessions, parent meetings, staff development training, field trips, and extracurricular activities.

• Prepare for assignments by reviewing relevant subject matter, terminology, and communication requirements.

• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other school personnel to facilitate effective communication.

• Maintain FERPA-compliant confidentiality, professional conduct, and interpreting ethics.

• Arrive at assigned locations 10 minutes before scheduled assignments and comply with District sign-in/sign-out procedures.

• Perform other related interpreting duties as assigned.
