Job Title: Travel Registered Nurse (RN III) – Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)

Reports To: PACU Manager / Nursing Supervisor

Job Summary:
The Travel RN III – PACU provides expert, evidence-based nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia following surgical or procedural interventions. This experienced nurse independently assesses and manages post-anesthesia patients, ensuring safe recovery and timely discharge while demonstrating adaptability in diverse hospital environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide comprehensive post-anesthesia care for adult and pediatric patients following surgery or procedures.

Monitor and manage airway, hemodynamic status, pain, nausea, and level of consciousness.

Administer medications and treatments safely according to provider orders and established protocols.

Perform rapid assessment and respond effectively to changes in patient condition.

Collaborate with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and perioperative staff to ensure continuity of care.

Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.

Adhere to hospital policies, infection control standards, and PACU best practices.

Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited nursing program; current RN license in state of assignment.

Minimum 2 years recent PACU or critical care experience (ICU, ER accepted).

Current BLS and ACLS certifications (PALS preferred for pediatric PACU).

BSN and national certification in perianesthesia nursing (CPAN or CAPA) preferred.

Strong ability to adapt to changing environments and fast-paced clinical settings.
