Job Summary

The CT/CAT Scan Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality CT imaging procedures in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols. The technologist ensures patient safety, accurate positioning, proper use of radiation, and efficient workflow while providing exceptional patient care.

🧑‍⚕️ Key Responsibilities

Perform CT scans including routine, trauma, emergency, and contrast studies.

Verify physician orders and prepare patients for procedures.

Position patients accurately to obtain optimal images.

Operate CT scanners, inject contrast media, and monitor for reactions.

Collaborate with radiologists and physicians for image review.

Maintain accurate patient records and complete documentation in PACS/RIS.

Follow ALARA principles and radiation safety guidelines.

Perform daily equipment checks and report issues to leadership.

Assist with on-call, weekend, or holiday shifts if required.

Provide compassionate, safe, and professional patient care.

📘 Required Qualifications

ARRT certification (RT) and CT credential (ARRT-CT).

State license (if applicable — NJ DOH license required for New Jersey).

BLS/CPR certification.

Minimum 1 year of CT experience preferred (new grads may be considered based on facility).

Knowledge of contrast protocols and radiation safety practices.
