JOB SUMMARY: RN - ICU (MACON, GA)

- FACILITY OVERVIEW:
- 637-bed teaching hospital, Level 1 Trauma, Chest Pain & Stroke Center
- Location: 777 Hemlock St, Macon, GA

- UNIT DETAILS:
- ICU units (10-20 beds each)
- Patient types: CCU, MICU, STICU, NICU, CVICU, PCU
- 2+ years ICU RN experience required; first-time travelers accepted

- PATIENT RATIOS:
- ICU: RN 1:1-2
- PCU: RN 1:3-4
- LPN: 1:4-6
- CNA support: 1-2 per shift

- LICENSURE & CERTIFICATIONS:
- Active RN license
- BLS & ACLS required; CCRN preferred
- Must pass EKG competency exam

- REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Trach care, chest tube management, PIV starts, glucometer use
- Titration/management of drips (insulin, heparin, narcotic, paralytic, vasopressors, sedation, cardiac)

- DEPARTMENT SUPPORT:
- CNA, Unit Secretary, Charge Nurse, Resource Nurse, RT, Hospitalist, Intensivist available 24/7
- RNs draw labs from CVLs; PICC team available
- Central telemetry unit

- TECHNOLOGY/EQUIPMENT:
- EMR: EPIC
- IV Pumps: Alaris
- Med Dispensing: Pyxis
- Monitors: Phillips
- Other: Nova Glucose Stat Strips

- FLOATING:
- Required to float to all Med/Tele units as needed (float pool)

- ORIENTATION:
- 1 day general orientation, 2 days departmental, educational modules

- SCHEDULING:
- 12-hour shifts (7A-7P or 7P-7A)
- 6-week schedule cycle; 5-6 weekend shifts per cycle
- One major holiday shift per holiday
- No on-call; RTO requests via Manager
