JOB TITLE: Physician Assistant

Position Summary
The Physician Assistant provides direct medical care to Patients, including medical assessments, diagnosis, and treatment of acute and chronic conditions under the supervision of a licensed Physician. The Physician Assistant will conduct all duties in accordance with NCCHC, and ACA standards within the correctional facilitiy.
Key Responsibilities
· Conduct medical assessments, examinations, and treatment planning.
· Manage acute illnesses and chronic medical conditions.
· Prescribe medications within state-approved scope of practice.
· Respond to medical emergencies and assist with emergency care.
· Maintain accurate electronic medical records.
· Participate in quality improvement and infection control initiatives.
· Ability to pass:
o Background Investigation
o Drug Screening
Training Requirements
· Emergency medical response training.
· Sexual abuse response and forensic exam procedures.
· Annual suicide prevention and mental health crisis training.
Qualifications
· Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
· Current, full, and unrestricted PA license in the state of employment.
· National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) certification.
· DEA registration (if prescribing controlled substances).
· Current BLS certification (ACLS preferred).
· Minimum one (1) to two (2) years of clinical experience preferred.
