Misericordia Heart of Mercy is a home to over 600 children and adults with mild to profound developmental disabilities. Misericordia offers a community of care that maximizes potential for persons with mild to profound developmental disabilities, many of whom are also physically challenged.
Summary
Work cooperatively with the Director of Nursing as assigned by the Assistant Vice President of Nursing. This includes being aware of resident/family concerns. Work collaboratively on budgetary concerns, personnel issues & training, and regulatory compliance. Regularly communicate with AVP of Nursing any concerns or needs that are noticed in their areas. Work cooperatively with the Director of Nursing in ensuring the health, safety, and welfare of all residents in an atmosphere which promotes quality, respect, and dignity of the person. Support and promote the values connected to the Community of Believers: quality of life, responsibility, connection, and spirituality. Actively support your team members in the nursing department to insure they are on-boarded, thoroughly trained, engaged with and developed to their full potential throughout their employment.
Responsibilities
Knowledge of Misericordia philosophy, purpose, and services. Aware of policies and procedures concerning residents, families, personnel, and more specific nursing policies and procedures. Involvement in development and implementation of policies and procedures.
Support staff retention efforts by actively supporting, engaging and developing nurses hired for all areas. Maintain high level of employee morale through leadership skills and attendance at monthly meetings.
Foster teamwork with all residential areas. Collaborate on the area specific needs for medical/nursing support
Ensure employee HR file requirements are up to date (physicals, PPD, CPR, annual training requirements, evaluations, etc.). Implement policies as appropriate.
Complete ADP payroll processing accurately and in a timely manner. Adhere to the Fair Workweek Ordinance with regards to compliance, scheduling and record keeping requirements of covered employees.
Ensure that payroll schedule spanning one pay period at a time and weekly assignments are submitted to nurses in a timely manner.
Have a working knowledge of minimum standards, rules, regulations for licensing and certification of residential Active involvement in staffing’s as needed.
Pay
$84,400 - $126,000

Qualifications
- Licensed Illinois Registered nurse
- Bachelor Degree in Nursing (preferred)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working with individuals with
developmental disabilities
- Supervisory experience
- Leadership skills and/or experience, including but not limited
to project management, training, mentoring staff, etc.
- Proven initiative and responsibility; high degree of
professionalism
- Proven ability to work as a team member
- Demonstrated ability to connect with residents, families, and
staff
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
