JOB SUMMARY (LIST FORMAT):
- Must have an ACTIVE ALASKA REGISTERED NURSING LICENSE at time of submittal.
- RECENT URGENT CARE EXPERIENCE (within the last 2 years) required.
- PROOF OF FLU VACCINE is mandatory.
- Responsible for assisting patients and medical staff in an urgent care/ambulatory care clinic setting.
- Ensure efficient clinic operations, covering both front desk and patient care areas.
- Maintain up-to-date SKILL SETS, ANNUAL COMPETENCIES, CERTIFICATIONS, and participate in required training and staff meetings.
- Adhere to INFECTION CONTROL POLICIES and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
- Maintain medication inventory and clinic supplies (not on Warehouse PAR system).
- Perform and document QUALITY CONTROL CHECKS for Point of Care tests.
- Clearly and accurately DOCUMENT ALL PATIENT CARE AND SERVICES in a professional and timely manner.
- Oversee the OPENING AND CLOSING OF PROVIDER CLINICS.
- ASSIST PROVIDERS AND CLINIC STAFF, anticipating needs for efficient and quality patient care.
- Communicate effectively with other departments to support patients, providers, and staff.
- Report unresolved issues or safety hazards to management.
- Address employee concerns following HR policies.
- EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Active Alaska RN license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Minimum 2 years in urgent care.
- KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
- Nursing process, customer service, safety/infection control.
- Assessment, specimen collection, equipment use (computers/medical equipment).
- Strong communication, multitasking, and teamwork abilities.
- Problem-solving, critical thinking, and willingness to teach or seek help as needed.
- PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Regular speaking/hearing; frequent standing, walking, sitting, reaching.
- Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
- Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs.
- SHIFT DETAILS: Urgent care hours 8am-8pm; variable shifts across days and hours.
