Setting: Occupational Health/Employee Health Clinic
Shift/Schedule: Day Shift (7:30 AM - 4:00 PM)
Qualifications
Required:
Current Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Kentucky
Active DEA certification
Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited program
Board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGNP), or equivalent
Current BLS certification
Minimum 1-2 years of clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner
Strong assessment, diagnostic, and clinical decision-making skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team
Preferred:
Experience in occupational health, employee health, or urgent care settings
ACLS certification
Occupational health certification (COHN or COHN-S)
Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
Knowledge of workers' compensation and OSHA regulations
Job Summary:
The Nurse Practitioner will provide comprehensive primary and occupational health services to employees at the Commonwealth Capital Annex facility in Frankfort, KY. This position involves conducting health assessments, diagnosing and treating acute and chronic conditions, performing occupational health screenings, managing work-related injuries, and promoting employee wellness. The NP will work collaboratively with the healthcare team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in an onsite clinic setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and health assessments
Diagnose and treat acute illnesses and injuries
Manage chronic disease conditions and provide follow-up care
Perform occupational health services including pre-employment physicals, drug screens, and fitness-for-duty evaluations
Manage work-related injuries and coordinate workers' compensation cases
Prescribe medications and treatments within scope of practice
Order and interpret diagnostic tests and laboratory results
Provide health education and wellness counseling
Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation
Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare team members
Ensure compliance with OSHA, state, and federal regulations
Current Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Kentucky
Diagnose and treat acute illnesses and injuries
