You must have completed a Surgical Technology program, Licensed Practical Nurse program, Registered Nurse program, or have a high school diploma with at least 2 years of scrub experience. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 days of hire. Experience in cardiovascular operating room procedures and proficiency in aseptic technique, instrument handling, and maintaining a sterile field are essential. Recommended skills include familiarity with cardiopulmonary bypass, ECMO support, and assisting with LVAD and heart transplant cases. Manual dexterity, technical ability, and strong teamwork are important for success.
