Position Overview

CentralCare Incorporated is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) to provide full-time services in the Mother-Baby Unit at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii.

This is an excellent opportunity to support military service members and their families while working in a premier military medical facility and gaining valuable federal healthcare experience.

Any active U.S. state LPN/LVN license is accepted.

Compensation & Benefits

$30.00/hour – Base Rate

$5.09/hour – Health & Welfare (H&W)

80 Hours PTO – accrued annually

56 Hours Sick Leave – accrued annually

11 Paid Holidays annually

Qualifications

Education

Graduation from a State Board of Nursing-approved LPN/LVN training program, OR

Completion of equivalent military training that permits the candidate to sit for the applicable state licensure examination.

Experience

Minimum of one (1) year of experience within the last two (2) years as a Licensed Practical or Vocational Nurse after graduation.

Licensure

Must possess a current and active LPN/LVN license.

Any active U.S. state license is accepted.

Required Certifications

Candidates must maintain current:

Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – American Heart Association

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – American Heart Association

Responsibilities

The LPN/LVN will provide nursing support and patient care services in accordance with applicable clinical policies, procedures, and standards. Responsibilities include:

Prepare patients for special procedures.

Perform Foley catheterization on adult and pediatric patients as appropriate for the assigned clinical area.

Perform irrigation of the eyes, ears, stomach, abscesses, and wounds.

Perform technical procedures such as shunt care, insertion and maintenance of NG tubes, Hickman catheter care, and changing IV tubing and dressings as appropriate for the clinical care area and in accordance with unit SOPs.

Perform care and maintenance of drainage tubes.

Perform patient suctioning.

Draw laboratory specimens independently when directed.

Correctly perform point-of-care testing and other authorized satellite laboratory procedures.

Ensure laboratory specimens are correctly labeled and laboratory documentation is properly completed.

Assist with special procedures in specialty clinics or inpatient units as appropriate.

Complete required inpatient documentation, including intake and output records, TPR graphics, nursing notes, and other required forms.

Utilize computerized healthcare information systems as required.

Reinforce patient education and discharge instructions.

Use and maintain diagnostic and patient-care equipment, including stethoscopes, blood pressure cuffs, cardiac monitors, digital monitoring equipment, hemodynamic monitoring systems, infusion pumps, central venous lines, and respiratory ventilators.

Recognize and respond appropriately to significant changes in a patient's condition.

Notify the Registered Nurse and/or physician when clinically appropriate.

Perform airway management and initiate CPR when required.

Provide nursing care in accordance with applicable standards, policies, and scope of practice.

May be assigned or rotated between inpatient wards, clinics, and specialized units based on facility needs.
