Compensation & Benefits

$50.00/hour – Base Rate

$5.09/hour – Health & Welfare (H&W)

80 Hours PTO – accrued annually based on wage determination

56 Hours Sick Leave – accrued annually

11 Paid Federal Holidays

Schedule

Monday–Friday

8-hour shifts scheduled between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM, not to exceed 40 hours per week.

The RN may occasionally be required to work various shifts or provide additional clinical nursing support during the absence of other team nurses due to illness, leave, or deployment.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing or higher.

Must be a graduate of a college or university accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).

Experience

The RN must have:

At least 24 months of experience within the last 48 months in a primary care, Emergency Room, Critical Care, or ICU nursing setting.

At least 24 months of experience within the last 48 months in occupational medicine, including nursing assessment of orthopedic injuries.

At least 24 months of experience within the last 48 months working with Federal-level workers’ compensation.

Licensure

Must possess a full, current, valid, and unrestricted Registered Nurse license in a U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia, with no limitations, stipulations, or pending adverse actions.

Certification

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Citizenship

Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Responsibilities

Complete all required electronic medical record training, MTF-specific orientation, and applicable DHA and Air Force training.

Follow applicable MTF, Air Force, and Department of Defense instructions, policies, and clinical guidelines.

Support Occupational Medicine Services (OMS), Aerospace Medicine, Civilian Personnel, and other base personnel with medically disqualified, compensation, and limited-duty programs.

Assist with investigations involving illnesses and injuries affecting active-duty military and civilian personnel.

Coordinate and compile workers’ compensation information relevant to adjudicating and/or controverting compensation claims.

Apply knowledge of the military healthcare system and TRICARE health benefits when applicable.

Operate and monitor specialized medical equipment, including cardiac monitoring devices, EKG units, oxygen analyzers, nebulizers, and other clinic-specific equipment.

Administer medications in accordance with established protocols and the RN's scope of practice.

Perform or assist with clinical procedures including oxygen administration, visual acuity testing, EKGs, eye and ear irrigation, tympanograms, splinting, phlebotomy, and other clinic-specific procedures.

Maintain accurate documentation of procedures, treatments, and patient care.

Ensure medical equipment is properly cleaned and stored at the end of each shift.

Ensure preventive maintenance and routine equipment cleaning are completed as required and that medications and supplies are replenished.

Participate in the orientation and training of newly assigned personnel when appropriate.

Perform telephone triage in accordance with local policies.

Coordinate off-base patient referrals and educate patients regarding the referral process.

Maintain a safe work environment and promote employee and patient safety in accordance with regulatory requirements, infection-control policies, and process-improvement initiatives.
