The post-anesthesia care Unit (PACU) nurse cares for patients who have under gone anesthesia. The post-anesthesia care Unit (PACU) nurse is responsible for observing and treating a patient postoperation and making sure that they safely awake from anesthesia. The PACU nurse must monitor vital signs and levels of consciousness to make sure that the sedation is wearing off properly, there are no adverse reactions occurring and patients are regaining consciousness.
Shifts: 8 hour shifts, Rotating shift start times 11:00am-7:30pm or 1p-9:30p, no weekends, no holidays. No on-call required.

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
· Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
· Basic Life Support Certification required and must maintain certification.
· ACLS Certification required and must maintain certification.
· PALS Certification required and must maintain certification.
· Successful passage of the Basic Arrhythmia Program or challenge exam.
· Must read, write and communicate in English.
· BSN Preferred.
· Demonstrated skills in I.V. starts, hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator care, required
· One (1) year (within the last five (5) years) recent experience required in ICU/CVICU/CVPA/ER or SDC/PACU.
· Prior SDC or PACU experience preferred (within the last 5 years).
