School Nurse (RN)

Adelphi is seeking a Registered Nurse  to provide on-site nursing services for a School in Sarasota County, Florida.

The ideal candidate will work closely with school administration to provide services to students in accordance with established guidelines and standards of practice.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program

• Active Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license

• Current CPR/BLS certification

• Minimum one (1) year of experience working with students with multiple disabilities.

• Minimum one (1) year of experience participating in IEP meetings.

• Minimum one (1) year of nursing experience, preferably in a school, pediatric, or community health setting

• Experience caring for children with chronic health conditions and disabilities preferred

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide direct nursing care to students with acute and chronic health needs

• Administer medications and treatments as ordered

• Assess student health concerns and respond to medical emergencies

• Develop and implement Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs)

• Collaborate with school staff, families, and healthcare providers

• Maintain accurate health records and required documentation

• Participate in IEP and Section 504 meetings as needed

• Educate staff regarding student health needs and emergency procedures

• Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal health regulations

• Any other duties as assigned
