Job Description:

Join the prestigious Comprehensive Liver Care Unit – Intermediate Care team at one of the nation’s top academic medical centers. This 24-bed unit provides advanced pre- and post-operative care to liver transplant and transplant hepatology patients. As part of a high-acuity, multidisciplinary team, you’ll play a key role in patient recovery, clinical monitoring, and complex treatment coordination.

This role is perfect for experienced IMC or Step-Down RNs who excel in surgical recovery, critical thinking, and high-intensity patient care. The environment combines advanced medicine with compassionate care, supported by strong clinical leadership and robust interdisciplinary resources.

Preferred: Prior charge experience, travel experience, Trauma Level I or II background
Patient Ratio: 1:3
Float: Required within scope
Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend
Charting System: Any accepted
Teaching Hospital Experience: Preferred

Core Skills:
IV Therapy & Phlebotomy
Central Line & Port Care/Management
Chest Tubes, High Flow Nasal Cannula, CPAP/BiPAP
Telemetry Monitoring & Dysrhythmia Interpretation
Rapid Response / Code Team Participation
Feeding Tube & Tracheostomy Care
PCA Management & Cardiac Drip Maintenance
Post-Op Surgical & Liver Transplant Recovery

Requirements:

Minimum 2 years of IMC or Step-Down experience (surgical experience highly preferred)

Active RN License (VA or Compact)

Required Certifications: BLS
