JOB TITLE: Nurse Manager

Position Summary
The Nurse Manager is responsible for the clinical supervision, coordination, and quality oversight of all nursing operations within the correctional facility. This role ensures full compliance with the Performance Work Statement (PWS), NCCHC standards, and all applicable state and federal healthcare regulations.
Key Responsibilities
· Perform initial medical intake screenings within 12 hours of detainee arrival.
· Conduct:
o Vital signs
o Health assessments
o TB screening
o Chronic care follow-ups
· Administer medications and treatments as ordered.
· Respond to medical emergencies and provide emergency stabilization.
· Assist providers with:
o Sick call
o Diagnostic procedures
o Medical examinations
· Accurately document all care in the medical record.
· Maintain confidentiality of medical records in accordance with HIPAA.
· Participate in infection control, quality assurance, and safety programs.
Training Requirements
· Emergency Medical Response
· CPR/BLS (current at all times)
· Suicide prevention and self-harm intervention (initial and annually)
· Sexual abuse and assault prevention and intervention
· Infection control and bloodborne pathogens
· Use of restraints awareness and detainee rights
· Documentation, privacy, and HIPPA compliance
Qualifications
· Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) required.
· Current and documented unrestricted Registered Nurse license in state of employment.
· Minimum of 6 years if professional nursing experience.
· Must maintain current CPR/BLS certification.
· Must maintain any professional credentials required for specialty practice.
· Demonstrated supervisory or charge nurse experience in a clinical, correctional, or institutional healthcare setting preferred.
· Ability to pass all required:
o Background investigation
o Drug Screening
· Ability to work in a secure detention environment.
