RN – Hemodialysis – Traveler (Days)
Position Summary
The Hemodialysis Registered Nurse (RN) provides safe and effective nursing care to patients requiring acute dialysis treatment. The RN performs patient assessments, initiates and monitors dialysis therapy, manages vascular access, and ensures adherence to dialysis protocols and safety standards. This role requires strong clinical judgment, the ability to work independently, and readiness for stand-by and call-back needs. Holiday coverage, including Christmas and New Year’s, will be discussed during the interview.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care to patients receiving acute hemodialysis treatment.
Perform pre-, intra-, and post-treatment assessments and document all findings in the medical record.
Initiate, monitor, and discontinue dialysis treatments safely and accurately.
Manage and monitor vascular access sites, including fistulas, grafts, and central lines.
Respond promptly to complications or changes in patient condition during dialysis.
Collaborate with nephrologists, dialysis technicians, and interdisciplinary team members.
Ensure proper dialysis machine setup, operation, and disinfection according to protocol.
Maintain infection-control and safety standards throughout treatment.
Provide patient and family education regarding dialysis therapy and care plans.
Participate in required stand-by and call-back coverage.

Day shift traveler assignment.
Stand-by and call-back required.
Upcoming holiday coverage (Christmas and New Year’s) to be discussed during interview.
Will be required to work in the 4 hospital campuses (Denville, Dover, Passaic, and Newark)
