Registered Nurse (RN) – Family Health

Position Overview

CentralCare Incorporated is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Family Health to provide full-time clinical nursing services at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst (JBMDL), New Jersey.

The RN will work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care, support optimal clinical outcomes, promote patient education, and ensure compliance with established standards of care, policies, and procedures.

Compensation & Benefits

$48.00/hour – Base Rate

$4.57/hour – Health & Welfare (H&W)

80 Hours PTO – accrued

56 Hours Sick Leave – accrued

11 Paid Holidays annually

Minimum Qualifications

Education

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or related field.

Must be a graduate of a college or university accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).

Experience

Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Registered Nurse.

Primary Care experience is preferred.

Knowledge of computer operations and proficiency with basic word processing, data entry, and automated medical records.

Licensure

Must possess a current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse, as required by the Task Order (TO).

Certification

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Job Responsibilities

Coordinate patient care in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.

Facilitate optimal outcomes related to clinical care, quality, and cost-effectiveness.

Ensure compliance with established standards of care, policies, procedures, and guidelines within the Military Treatment Facility (MTF).

Provide nursing care within ethical, professional, and legal boundaries.

Perform physical examinations and obtain patient health histories.

Provide health promotion, counseling, patient education, and preventive-care support.

Administer medications, provide wound care, perform phlebotomy, and complete IV insertion and administration as appropriate.

Direct and supervise care provided by other healthcare professionals within applicable scope-of-practice requirements.

Make patient-care assignments based on the scope of practice and skill level of assigned personnel.

Recognize adverse signs and symptoms and respond promptly to emergency situations.

Provide emergency care as a Rapid Response Team (RRT) member when required.

Communicate and collaborate effectively with patients, families, healthcare professionals, and other staff.

Make referral appointments and coordinate specialty care as appropriate.

Set up, operate, and monitor specialized medical equipment, including cardiac monitoring devices, EKG units, nebulizers, and other clinic-specific equipment.

Orient and train newly assigned RNs, LPNs, and ancillary personnel regarding unit policies, procedures, skills, and standards of practice.

Participate in or conduct activities supporting improved clinical practices and patient outcomes, including peer reviews.

Triage patients by telephone, electronically, and on a walk-in basis in accordance with applicable policies and procedures.

Determine the appropriate timing and location for patient management, including emergency room, clinic, or home care, and coordinate follow-up care as required.

Collect and assess relevant patient history and provide appropriate patient teaching.

Advocate for patients and ensure patients and families receive appropriate education regarding treatment plans, self-care, and health management.

Tailor patient education to clinical risk, readiness to change, and health literacy.

Support other clinical nursing staff during absences resulting from illness, leave, or deployment.

Maintain required certifications and complete required staff training and annual Continuing Education Units (CEUs).

Provide Pediatric and/or Women’s Health nursing services when required.

May augment nursing support in Pediatrics and Family Health during staffing shortages or provider absences.

Perform other duties within the RN scope of practice and applicable policies and procedures.
