Pediatric Psych Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Pediatric Psychiatric Registered Nurse to join our team for a 13-week contract assignment. This role focuses on providing exceptional care to children and adolescents experiencing psychiatric, emotional, or behavioral health challenges. Ideal candidates are patient, confident in crisis intervention, and passionate about supporting youth in a therapeutic environment.

Position Details

Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (Days or Nights available)

Setting: Pediatric/Adolescent Psychiatric & Behavioral Health

Patient Ratio: Varies based on unit acuity and requirements

Charge Duty: May be required (no additional pay)

Floating: May be required to similar units

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Age Requirement: Must be 21+ to apply

Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care to pediatric and adolescent psychiatric patients

Perform assessments, administer medications, and document care activities

Support crisis prevention and de-escalation using trauma-informed approaches

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including therapists, social workers, and providers

Ensure a safe and structured environment for patients

Support family engagement and education

Requirements

Active RN license (state-specific if required)

Current BLS certification

Previous pediatric psych or behavioral health experience strongly preferred

Ability to work in fast-paced, emotionally complex environments

Strong communication, patience, and therapeutic rapport-building skills

Must be 21 years of age or older
