Primary Responsibilities (ICU/IMCU Nurse)
The main duty is to provide life-saving, specialized care to critically ill or injured patients who require complex interventions and constant monitoring.
Advanced Monitoring: Conduct frequent, comprehensive patient assessments, including reading dysrhythmia interpretation and closely watching vital signs and lab values.
Specialized Care: Administer medications, including titrating critical drips, and operate life-support equipment like ventilators.
Emergency Response: Quickly recognize subtle changes in a patient's condition and be prepared to respond rapidly and accurately during medical emergencies.
Coordination & Advocacy: Coordinate the care plan with physicians, Respiratory Therapists, and other team members, while serving as an advocate and providing emotional support to patients and families.
Professional Practice: Maintain expertise in total body systems assessment, use critical thinking for complex problem-solving, and serve as a preceptor for new employees.
1. Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and licensed as a RN in the State of Georgia in good standing without limitations.
2. Minimum of two (2) years of full-time experience as a RN post-orientation or post-residency training.
3. Certified in American Heart Association’s Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).
