The CNA provides direct resident care and assistance with daily activities under the supervision of licensed nursing staff. CNAs help maintain residents’ comfort, safety, and well-being while delivering compassionate, high-quality care.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, and toileting.
Assist with transfers, ambulation, and mobility.
Measure and record vital signs.
Observe and report changes in residents’ conditions to nurses.
Maintain accurate documentation.
Provide emotional support and companionship.
Ensure residents’ rooms and care areas are clean and safe.
Follow infection control and safety procedures.
Work collaboratively with nurses and healthcare staff.
Scope of Responsibility
Provide direct patient/resident care under the supervision of an RN or LPN.
Support residents’ physical comfort, safety, and daily needs.
Adhere to facility policies, state regulations, and quality standards.

Requirements
Active CNA certification in the state of employment.
Current CPR certification (if required).
Long-term care or rehabilitation experience preferred.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
