Adheres to the general hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment by utilizing communication skills, interpersonal relationships and team building. Processes and screens cytologic specimens according to procedure and screens microscopic slides for diagnostic evaluation. Issues diagnostic reports on cytologic material. Issues final diagnostic reports on negative GYN cases and provides preliminary diagnoses on all remaining cases that are evaluated further by a Pathologist. Performs and documents quality control and quality assurance activities appropriately.
Completion of a 4-year BS or BA degree in cytotechnology, biology or life sciences and completion of an accredited cytotechnology program. Cytotechnologist (CT) (ASCP) or equivalent certification required. Cytotechnologist (CT) (ASCP) or equivalent certification required.
