Speech Language Pathologist

Responsibilities:
• Conduct speech, language, and hearing screenings.
• Evaluate and identify communication disorders of the students.
• Collaborate with school staff to plan interventions for referred students.
• Determine diagnoses and recommendations for educational modifications and speech-language interventions.
• Develop and implement IEPs.
• Provide direct services for issues such as receptive and expressive language, fluency, voice, articulation, aural rehabilitation, oral motor intervention, auditory processing.
• Participate in in-service for teachers and provide consultation services to staff.
• Remain updated in the field of speech and language and special education.
• Coordinate with community agencies, participate in teacher and parent conferences, and annual review meetings.
• Plan curricular/instructional modifications and meet other assigned school responsibilities.

Qualifications:
• Connecticut certification as a Speech & Language Pathologist.
• Licensure by the State of Connecticut Board of Health.
• Experience in writing IEP goals/objectives.
• Experience with the PPT process.
• Experience in working with families from diverse backgrounds.
• Proficiency in Spanish is preferred.
• Public school experience at all levels, including preschool (preferred).
• Experience with IEP Direct software (preferred).

Requirements
• Connecticut certification as a Speech & Language Pathologist.
• Licensure by the State of Connecticut Board of Health.
