About being a Pediatric Registered Nurse at Easterseals Redwood:
Nurses at ESRW play a vital role in ensuring the success of each individual we serve. Nurses are part of a greater picture. We work in collaboration with other departments to ensure each client is reaching their full potential.
1. Provides nursing care and related services—using the nursing processes of assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation and evaluation—under the direction of the nursing manager based on physician orders and a client’s protocol of care
2. Supports the delivery of a “best nursing practice” day health care program
3. Collaborates with other staff in the day health program to foster age-appropriate self-care and fine/gross motor, language/literacy, and social/emotional development
4. Supervises and provides daily care services to address basic needs, including physical handling of client for wheelchair transfers, positioning, personal hygiene, toileting, dressing, and other such tasks as needed.
5. Educates, instructs and trains parents/guardians/caregivers regarding their client’s health care.
What Easterseals Redwood needs from our Pediatric Registered Nurse:
1. Associate degree/Diploma Graduate in nursing with a current unencumbered license in the state of Kentucky.
2. One year's experience in pediatric (or adult care, depending on assignment) nursing preferred.
3. Candidates with college-level courses or a degree in client development, early client education, or special education are desirable attributes when assigned to Adult’s, Children’s/PPEC programs.
