ADVANCED PRACTICE NURSE/NURSE PRACTITIONER for a PSYCHIATRIC POSITION

Seeking ADVANCED PRACTICE NURSE/NURSE PRACTITIONER for a PSYCHIATRIC TELEHEALTH AND IN OFFICE POSITION to work with children, adolescents, families and adults. In-office (Barrington, IL) and some remote. Practice in collaboration with other nurse practitioners, psychiatrists, nurses, psychologists and therapists. PART-TIME, FLEXIBLE HOURS days/eves, no call. Must have current Illinois license. We offer a competitive salary and are located in the northwest suburbs of Chicago.
We are looking for a Nurse Practitioner to treat mental health conditions, as well as promote good health practices. As an advanced practice registered nurse, you’ll be our go-to person for ensuring the best patient care possible. The job description of a nurse practitioner includes reviewing lab tests and overseeing patients’ health. You’ll be both a health practitioner and an educator, supporting disease prevention practices and helping people lead healthy lives. You should have experience in family health or psychiatry. As a Nurse Practitioner, you’ll work closely with other healthcare professionals, so you should come with a team spirit and a positive attitude. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Interview patients and review their medical records.
Order and review diagnostic tests (blood tests, genetic tests, etc.)
Consider standard treatments for chronic and acute mental illnesses.
Prescribe medications.
Maintain accurate records and schedules.
Inform patients about their health conditions and prescribed medications.
Educate patients and their family members.
Promote good health practices

SKILLS:
Clinical experience as Nurse Practitioner in a clinic, hospital, ER or other setting.
Experience in primary care, or psychiatric care.
Excellent communication skills.
Strong ethics.
Team spirit with a positive attitude.
Patience and cool-headedness.
Willingness to continue acquiring medical knowledge and clinical experience.
Valid nurse practitioner license.
