Travel/Contract RN L&D job in Austin, Texas

Location: Downtown Austin, 24 week position

Responsibilities
- Shift: Nights 1900-0700
- Projected Start: ASAP
- Provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients in the labor and delivery unit
- Perform patient assessments and develop and implement nursing care plans
- Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and assist with procedures such as catheterization and IV insertion
- Utilize EMR and EHR systems to accurately document patient information and care provided
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients
- Assist with deliveries and provide support to mothers and newborns during the labor process
- Educate patients and their families on postpartum care and newborn care
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and adhere to infection control protocols
- Stay current with best practices in labor and delivery nursing and participate in ongoing education and training
- Demonstrate proficiency in ACLS, NRP, and BLS protocols to ensure the highest level of patient safety and care
