Travel RN - Med Surg - Petersburg, WV

- Nurse/Patient Ratios: 1:06
- Required certifications: BLS
- Common diagnoses/Types of patients: COPD, CHF, Total joints, Hysters, general post ops.
- Experience: Must have at least 1 year experience, prefer to have travel experience. Will train
travelers on things they are unfamiliar with.
- Are RNs required to titrate drips: No drips.
- Are there tele/monitor techs on this unit: Tele on the unit. SCU RN monitors and reads strips.
- Charge Nurse/House Supervisor: Does the charge nurse take an assignment? Charge available for
all shifts- Day shift designated charge, Nights one of the 3 nurses are assigned charge as well as
patients. House supervisor available.
- Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios: 1:6-1:9 depending on staffing.
- RT Equipment: CPAP, BiPAP if established at home.
- Shifts & Scheduling: 12 hours 7-7. Will try to work with requests, scheduler does schedule try to
give one generous block of time once a month.
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend- Fri, Sat, Sun.
- Holiday Requirement: Rotate with perm staff.
- Is there Call or a Standby requirement?: No
- Floating Requirements?: No
- Scrub Color/Dress Code: No specific scrub color
- Unit/Department specific orientation: Day 1 get a feel for the unit/requirements, then 2- 12 hour
shifts.
