MDS Assessor Nurse (Registered Nurse)
We have a Full Time MDS Assessor position available.
The ideal candidate will have prior MDS/Case Management experience, preferably in a Pulmonary/Sub-Acute environment, and Knowledge of MDS 3.0 along with the following is preferred: AANAC Certified and experience with SigmaCare
Case Management back-up role includes:
· Advocating for personalized treatment options that address a resident’s/ patient unique care needs while in the facility. This is done by being a liaison between residents, care team, and their insurance providers to promote quality, cost-effective care with the best resident outcomes
· Verifying insurance coverage of the admitted resident / patient. Every insurance policy is different, so the coverage is different. The residents and family must be made aware of any out-of-pocket expenses associated with the stay.
· Monitor daily denials of coverage by insurance companies which can come via emails, phone calls, or fax
· Send clinical notes daily/ as requested to insurance companies to attest on-going care and treatment in progress. This is to provide an accurate picture of the residents/patient’s condition and status while trying to get approval / authorization for continued coverage.
· Ensure Nomics are issued to residents when insurances refused to pay for their continued stay. This process helps residents plan for their return home and gain access to outpatient services.
· Update the fiscal calendar as authorization is granted and net work with case manager
