Are you the Licensed Practical Nurse we have been looking for? In this position, you will be able to convey your passion for helping others while working with a dynamic team of nurses by bringing an energetic and positive approach while working with our students!

The Susan Wayne Center of Excellence (SWCE)provides intensive, staff secure, educational and living experiences for male and female adolescents intended to cultivate excellence in all areas of growth and functioning, while preparing them for increased independence as they move into young adulthood.

Schedule: This position is 2nd Shift (1pm-9pm) with weekend availability required.

What You’ll Do:

YOU will make a difference in the lives of the young men and woman we support who present with challenging multiple diagnosis.
YOU will have the opportunity to participate in medication administration, triage and basic first aid, developing care plans, maintaining student safety, and monthly documentation.
YOU will provide empowering support, enabling students to live fuller lives & safely explore & pursue their dreams.

Requirements:

Current Connecticut LPN License in good standing or close to obtaining RN License.
Valid driver’s license.
Ability to be certified in American Red Cross CPR/First Aid.
Ability to be certified in Building Communities of Care (verbal de-escalation and physical intervention).
Experience in a mental health, residential or medical setting with adolescents preferred.
Ability to express ideas clearly both in written and oral communications.
Knowledge of basic Microsoft computer systems and Internet capabilities.
Background and driving record checks will be performed.
