Pediatric Nurse Practitioner

Dynamic and rewarding position at Our House, Inc. as a Family Nurse Practitioner caring for families experiencing homelessness in Atlanta! Our House Health is a Nurse Practitioner led community health program providing preventive, reproductive, and mental health services at no-cost to families. Our care is delivered using the holistic nursing model which places individuals, families, and communities at the center of care delivery. Our Nurse Practitioners provide whole person, family-centered care with compassion and are on-site at several shelters in the Atlanta area. Our Nurse Practitioners practice in an autonomous environment at the top of APRN licensure. The Family Nurse Practitioner must be comfortable and experienced providing care for pediatric patients of all ages.

The Nurse Practitioner will participate in a collaborative practice environment providing direct health services to program participants. The Nurse Practitioner will practice at the top of their Nursing licensure. The Nurse Practitioner will also participate in clinical administrative duties including period review and updating of clinical guidelines, policies, and procedures related to clinical services delivery. This position reports directly to the Chief Clinical Officer. Supervisory input will also be provided from the Director of Health Programs.

Duties and Responsibilities Include

1) Clinical

● Provide direct health services for program participants according to scope of practice and national board certification including but not limited to: diagnostic assessments, creating a plan of care/treatment plan, prescribing medications and other therapies, ordering laboratory and radiographic testing and providing health education.

● Provide direct nursing care services including anthropometric measurements, medication administration, specimen collection & processing

● Refer clients in need of a higher level of care or hospitalization to appropriate facilities

● Refer clients for ancillary services as needed

● Serve as a clinical expert to team members in the field of board certification

● Maintain appropriate confidentiality, documentation of client encounters, and services provided

● Appropriate coding of clinical encounters

● Precept students in our interprofessional education program

● Practice in accordance with state law and rules as determined by the Georgia State Board of Nursing and the Georgia Composite Medical Board

● Providing care for clients of varying ages/across the lifespan

2) Administrative

● Attend meetings as assigned by program or supervisor

● Participate in clinical shared governance

● Engage with key partners and stakeholders

● Participate in continuing education activities

● Maintain active state licensure, national board NP certification, and BLS certification

● Participation in assigned program championship (vaccine program, medication assistance program, laboratory program, wellness program, etc.)

3) Other Duties as assigned

Requirements
Required Education, Licensure, & Certification: Minimum of a Master’s degree in Nursing. Active, unencumbered license as a Registered Professional Nurse and authorization to practice as an APRN in the state of Georgia. National board certification as a Nurse Practitioner from accredited board (AANP, ANCC, PNCB, etc.). American Heart Association BLS certification for healthcare professionals.
