Patient Monitor Tech - 15311

COMPANY DESCRIPTION:
Health Quest and Western Connecticut Health Network have combined to form a new nonprofit health system. The name for the new health system will be Nuvance Health. The new health system was created to provide communities across New York’s Hudson Valley and western Connecticut with more convenient, accessible and affordable care.



DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:


What does a PMT do?

Our Patient Monitor Tech's provide continuous digital observation and surveillance of assigned patients. They are the first line of action is to verbally redirect the patient from engaging in at risk behaviors. They are to summons the on-site clinical staff if the patient requires assistance.

Responsibilities:

--Demonstrates understanding and proficiency of the use of the Video Monitoring System (VMS) Solution software.
--Maintains visual observation at all times. Verbally redirects patient over digital 2-way audio device that is in patient room. Immediately summons the on-site clinical staff if the patient requires assistance.
--Demonstrates the knowledge and skill necessary to provide the appropriate care to patients based on their individualized treatment plan as delegated by a registered nurse.
--Participates in hand-off of pertinent information/behavior about assigned patients when arriving on unit and upon completion of shift assignment.
--Provides patient with explanations as necessary, but does not counsel or provide opinions.
--Participates in cross training and coverage of other digital health platforms that fall within the scope of practice for a patient care monitor.
--Assist in the monitoring and evaluating of training program’s effectiveness, success and ROI periodically and report to Management



Position Summary:
* Location: Sharon Hospital
* Work Type: Full-Time
* Standard Hours: 36 hrs a week
* Work Shift: (3) 12 hour night shifts starting 6:45pm-7:15am, every other weekend and holiday requirement. On Call at least 1 shift per week

* Salary Range: $15.3000 - $25.6500 Hourly

Educ/Exp. Requirements:

Required: High School Graduate/G.E.D
Minimum one (1) year experience in hospital or clinical environment (physician office, nursing home, ambulatory services, etc.) providing direct patient care.
