Description

Registered Nurse, Private Duty, Per Diem or Part-Time

The VNA Health Group is one of the largest independent home health, hospice, and community-based services in the country. Our employees believe we're a Great Place to Work(R), too! We've won that distinction three years running.

Maybe it's because we have great benefits like a tuition reimbursement program of up to $12,000 a year, two retirement plans, and generous time off. Or, it could be that we hire dedicated, passionate, and collaborative talent who have created a community of support for our patients, their families, and each other.

The VNA of Ohio, a rich 120-year tradition of community health excellence in northeast Ohio, seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) to join its Private Duty team. The position can be per diem or part-time.

Among the responsibilities:
1. Utilizes principles of the nursing process to assist in data collection, planning and evaluation of nursing care.
2. Demonstrates nursing knowledge and skills in the implementation of prevention, therapeutic and rehabilitative nursing care.
3. Utilizes effective interviewing techniques; sets limits, and collects data based on specific role.
4. Communicates and collaborates effectively with health care providers, third parties, patients and families based on specific role.
5. Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of patient.
6. Observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or Physician of patient's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.
7. Responds to life saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol.
8. Uses oral and written communications to convey pertinent information to members of the healthcare team in a timely manner.

Requirements
Interested applicants should have the following credentials:

1.Experience in home health care.
2.Experience working as part of a team and working effectively with persons and communities from diverse cultural, social, and ethnic backgrounds.
3.The ability to work in a complex institutional structure requiring significant collaboration.
4.Strong planning and organizational skills.
5.Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure, within strict time parameters, and with a strong attention to detail.
6.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
7.Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

Education/Training/Experience:

*1-2 years’ experience in Med Surg or hospital setting.
*Completion of an accredited RN education program with a diploma, Associate’s or Bachelor's degree. Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
*Registered Nurse, licensed in the State of Ohio
*Experience in home health care and 1 year experience in medical-surgical nursing, in addition to Acute Care experience.
*Valid driver's license and CPR certification is required.
*Bi-lingual a plus.
