In this role, the AMN Procedural Services Flex Team RN will provide professional comprehensive nursing care for patients in an acute care environment within a variety of specialty units, settings, and healthcare facilities.
Provide compassionate patient care and reviews and administer patient medications, treatments, and procedures in a safe, effective, and age-appropriate manner that meets the scope of practice and standards of nursing.
Complete documentation of patient information, from admission to discharge, in an accurate manner.
Operate equipment related to the delivery of care in a procedural setting.
Assist the physician with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including the preparation of the sterile field, selection and preparation of instruments and supplies, manipulation of cardiac catheters and guidewires, and injection of contrast media.
Monitor patient condition before, during, and after the procedure for possible complications and/or reactions.
Administer medications and IV moderate sedation to patients, as directed per physician’s orders and in compliance with facility policies and state regulations.
Interpret and treat cardiac arrhythmias, as directed per physician’s orders.
Recognize changes in the patient's clinical conditions, taking appropriate action and documenting intervention.
Provide education to patients and their families regarding post-procedure care.
This position reports to the nurse manager of the assigned nursing department or unit and is accountable to the PSJH chief nursing executive and AMN chief clinical officer.

Experience in one of more of the following: interventional radiology, cath lab, GI/endoscopy
Previous interventional radiology experience preferred, but we will consider candidates with cath lab, EP lab, endoscopy, ER, ICU, critical care, or special procedural experience
Graduate of an RN program—BSN degree preferred
RN experience and an active, current unrestricted CA license
Proficient in IV insertion
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks simultaneously is a must
On call may be required for this position
National certification in specialty area preferred
BLS/CPR certification (issued by the American Heart Association)
ACLS certification (may vary by specialty)
