Per Diem Behavioral Health RN (Day or Night Shift)

We are seeking a compassionate and safety-focused Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team on a per diem basis. This role provides the flexibility of 12-hour day or night shifts, supporting a multidisciplinary team in delivering high-quality mental health care. The ideal candidate will bring a strong clinical foundation, experience with behavioral health patients, and confidence using EPIC.

Key Responsibilities:
-Provide direct and indirect nursing care to patients with mental health and psychiatric conditions
-Administer medications and monitor therapeutic responses and potential side effects
-Perform behavioral assessments and implement individualized care plans
-Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and other healthcare professionals
-Monitor for safety, prevent escalation, and respond to crisis situations calmly and effectively
-Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EPIC EMR
-Uphold patient dignity and advocate for supportive, recovery-based care

Requirements:
-Active RN license in California (Required)
-BLS certification (AHA) (Required)
-Minimum 1 year of behavioral health or psychiatric nursing experience (Required)
-Proficiency in EPIC charting system
-Strong verbal de-escalation and patient-centered communication skills
-Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed
-Ability to adapt to unpredictable environments and collaborate across care teams
