Mammography Technician

Our client is seeking a skilled mammography technician to work in both our Wellness Center and our Mobile Mammography Van. The van will travel to different sites through the Bronx. Additionally, they will be a team player who can handle issues by cooperating with all departmental personnel and who is adaptable, kind, courteous, and responsible when interacting with consumers.


Carry out a range of tasks involving the use of various instruments and equipment, including mammography equipment

Position patients and uses immobilization if necessary

Generate accurate exposure factors, and choose the appropriate mode

Obtain more photos as necessary while assessing the diagnostic quality of the images

if necessary, prepares and arrange medical supplies using aseptic methods. To patients: Describe the procedures

Provide new and student mammographers with orientation, instruction, and training

Provide diagnostic images of the highest caliber quickly while offering top-notch patient care.

During an examination, keep an eye on the health of the patient. If you notice any discomfort or health issues, you should respond quickly.

Reduce radiation exposures to patients, use the ALARA concept. reports and documents any overexposure, notifying management right away.

Examine the patient's medical history and, if necessary, obtains the proper signed waivers.

Consult a radiologist as needed to decide on the best exam.

If necessary, assist the radiologist(s) with interventional procedures such as stereotactic breast biopsies.

Examines the referral for the best study depending on the patient's history.

Make sure the quality control procedures connected to mammography are in place, do QC testing daily, weekly, and monthly.

Take part in initiatives and finishing other responsibilities that management assigns.
