Job Summary:
They are seeking a dedicated and experienced Postpartum Unit Director to join their team. The ideal candidate will ensure high-quality, patient-centered care by overseeing the unit's overall function and staffing, managing budgets, and fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration. This role involves the development and implementation of strategies, policies, and procedures to meet facility objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cultivate a superior clinical identity by implementing evidence-based practices to enhance patient safety and quality outcomes.
- Manage clinical practice variations to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
- Oversee patient throughput and high-quality care delivery through volume forecasting and patient flow coordination.
- Develop care coordination policies to improve quality, safety, and efficiency in care.
- Foster interdisciplinary communication and ensure staff have appropriate clinical competencies.
- Lead nursing practice and unit operations, ensuring patient and family needs are met.
- Provide leadership to ensure an unparalleled patient experience.
- Implement strategies to elevate patient and employee engagement and satisfaction.
- Collaborate with the administrative team and physicians to enhance or develop new services.
- Participate in the annual budget process and monitor department performance.
Additional Information:
- Oversee a unit of 97 beds (by the end of 2023).
- Manage both postpartum and lactation departments.
- Day and evening managers for postpartum; lactation team includes 2 supervisors and close to 15 team members.
- Department divided into Postpartum proper and Postpartum IMC.
- Women's Center of TX will be about 285 beds.
- Schedule: Full-time, No Weekends (24hr responsibility).

- BSN required.
- License/Certification: Basic Cardiac Life Support and Registered Nurse.
- Experience: 2+ years in a leadership role and 3+ years in healthcare.
- Strong skills in patient care, staff management, and regulatory compliance.
