The Registered Nurse provides direct care to patients using the nursing process. This includes ongoing assessment of the total patient. The RN provides interventions to treat the presenting symptoms and evaluates the effect of nursing interventions and patient's responses. The RN functions as a team leader/member and resource to others. The RN delegates, oversees and provides direction to support staff. Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to establish goals and outcomes for each patient. The RN is responsible for meeting the needs of all types of patients.

(10%)* The RN is knowledgeable and compliant with all local, state and federal regulations and guidelines as well as hospital specific policies and procedures relating to care provided in the medical center, and guides patient teaching and maintaining standards of professional nursing. REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND SKILLS
* Associates Degree Nursing required.
* BSN preferred
* Registered Nurse State of Michigan
* Dysthrymthia Interpretation Monitoring (DIM) Certification or comparable cardiac rhythm knowledge required within 12 months of hire or transfer.
* Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within 30 days of hire or transfer.
* Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification required within 12 months of hire or transfer.
* Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 12 months or hire or transfer.
* Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) required within 12 months of hire or transfer.
* Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) required within 12 months of hire or transfer.
* CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) within 6 months of hire, and annually thereafter.
Interpersonal skills needed to communicate successfully with individuals and groups and interact with people at all levels to communicate ideas and concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
Mandatory Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) training must also be completed annually according to the Exposure Control Plan.
Certified Emergency Nurse Exam recommended. NIMS 100, 200, 700 & 800 required within one year of hire or transfer.
Experience as a registered nurse preferred. Exception: completion of one year externship in an Emergency Dept. as part of education. comp.
