This position works an Alternative Workweek Schedule of 12 hour shifts, 3 days per week alternating with 4 days per week.
Registered Nurses (RN) are responsible for managing the individualized patient care by promoting and restoring patients' health through the nursing process, collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members, providing physical and psychological support to patients, performing Incidental Medical Services, and supervising team members as assigned. This is a safety-sensitive position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Duties may include but are not limited to the following:
Responsible for clinical and administrative tasks that are focused on providing high quality client care
Oversee nursing staff for the duration of the assigned work period
Perform Incidental Medical Services
Conduct an individualized patient assessment, prioritizing the data collection based on the patients immediate condition or needs within timeframe specified by client facilitys policies, procedures or protocols
Conduct ongoing assessments as determined by patients condition and/or the client facilitys policies, procedures or protocols and re-prioritizes care accordingly
Develop plan of care that is individualized for the patient reflecting collaboration with other members of the healthcare team
Perform appropriate treatments as ordered by a physician in an accurate and timely manner
Perform therapeutic nursing interventions as established by individualized plan of care for the patient and his/her family
Deliver care with appropriate age and cultural competence to specific patient populations according to individualized needs
Provide individualized patient/family education customized to the patient and his/her family.
Document patient assessment findings, physical/psychosocial responses to nursing intervention and progress towards problem resolution
Maintain confidentiality in matters related to patient, family and client facility staff
Provide care in a non-judgmental, non-discriminatory manner that is sensitive to the patients and familys diversity, preserving their autonomy, dignity and rights
Report patient condition to appropriate personnel during each shift
Collect and label specimens as ordered by physician (e.g., blood, stool, sputum, vomit, urine) from patients for testing following client facilitys policies, procedures and protocols
Maintain and stay up to date with professional knowledge
Maintain effective and open channels of communication and cooperation with other members of the nursing department, provider and interdisciplinary team in the service of providing effective safe care to the client

Education / Experience / License
One year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a substance abuse treatment or mental health preferred
Current, valid California license in good standing as a Registered Nurse
Current CPR and First Aid certification
Associate of Science in Registered Nursing or above from an accredited program
Current, valid California Driver License with driving record acceptable to the Company
Stand and walk for long periods of time throughout facility while carrying and using electronic devices and equipment
Sit for periods of time
Bend, twist, reach frequently
Lift up to 20 lbs. occasionally
Ability to work using a computer for extended periods of time
Ability to recognize faces
Ability to distinguish colors as necessary
Ability to hear sufficiently and speak clearly on the phone, in person, and in the environment, identify and distinguish sounds associated with the workplace
Ability to communicate with others by telephone, email, and personal interaction
Ability to see adequately to read computer screens and written documents necessary to the position
Fast paced medical environment with moderate noise level
Residential environment with moderate noise level
Exposure to blood-borne pathogens and hazardous waste, such as pharmaceuticals, solvents, chemicals, and cleaning solutions
Travel between company locations in Los Angeles and Ventura counties is required as company needs dictate.
This position requires occasional driving as duties dictate, which may include transporting clients.
Must satisfy post-offer, pre-employment conditions such as tuberculosis screening (annually thereafter), background check (including criminal and driving record check), drug screening, reference check. Ongoing monitoring and screenings during employment in accordance with law and company policy.
