The role of the Infection Control RN/Manager is to supervise the Infection Control Department in identifying, preventing and controlling outbreaks of communicable diseases within the hospital; to help collect, analyze and interpret data related to infectious diseases and report when necessary to local, state and federal authorities, as well as to internal committees; to educate staff on infection control measures including but not limited to proper hand hygiene and standard and transmission-based precautions; to adhere to infection control policies, procedures, to follow state and federal guidelines with regard to surveillance and reporting. Along with the job responsibilities of the Infection Control Nurse, the IC Manager will participate in leadership activities, ensure that policies and procedures are updated, and ensure that regulatory requirements are being met. RN, Physician, Medical Tech. with 2-5 years of hospital experience in nursing, microbiology, or other health-related field, Management/Director EXP of 2-5 years in the area of Infection Control, Certification in Infection Prevention and Control is voluntary but suggested.
