Harlem is the largest hospital in the area, capable of treating the most seriously ill. Harlem provides over 90 specialized ambulatory care services, dentistry and oral surgery, behavioral health services, and community substance abuse treatment. Description Harlem Hospital is an American College of Surgeon’s (ACS) Verified, Adult Level II Trauma Center. The Trauma Program Manager (TPM) will be expected to work in close collaboration with the Trauma Medical Director (TMD) in the management of all aspects of Harlem Hospital’s Trauma Program. The TPM is in charge of the day to day monitoring of the trauma program’s performance metrics concerning safety, efficiency and outcomes. Quality measures submitted to state and national registries will be tracked by the TPM who will oversee the activities of registrars that catalog over 800 trauma patients a year. The TPM will act as an expert in process improvement policies as they relate to nursing and ancillary care. In conjunction with the TMD, the TPM will develop clinical policies and guidelines and then take a co-equal role in establishing their adoption. The TPM will assist the TMD in meeting budgetary and CME requirements for the program. Minimum Qualifications • New York State Registered Nurse Certificate • Master’s level or equivalent advanced Nursing degree • Five years of clinical experience in trauma or a surgical specialty • Five years of managerial experience with facility in data base and office software • Experience in teaching, lecturing and research.
